Compression Shirt Manufacturer for Brands, Teams and Bulk Buyers
Mega Apparel is a compression shirt manufacturer producing custom compression tops for performance brands, gyms, sports teams, distributors and wholesale buyers. We have been in apparel manufacturing since 2012, and more than 2,000 clients have run production through our factory. Compression is not a normal t-shirt with a tighter pattern. It is a knit engineering problem. Get the spandex percentage, the panel tension or the seam type wrong, and the garment either strangles the wearer or goes slack after ten washes. We build to your compression range, your fabric spec and your size grade, then prove it on a sample before a single bulk meter is cut.
What We Actually Manufacture When You Order Compression
Compression is measured in millimeters of mercury, written as mmHg. The number describes how much pressure the fabric puts on the body at a given stretch. Everything else, fabric weight, spandex content, knit gauge, and panel width, exists to hit that number and hold it.
Most buyers arrive knowing the feel they want but not the figure. That is fine. Describe the use case and we will translate it into a spec.
| Tier | Typical range | Feel | Usually ordered for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Light support | 8 to 15 mmHg * | Snug, close-fitting, barely noticeable | Base layers, everyday training tops, running shirts |
| Moderate | 15 to 20 mmHg * | Clearly compressive, holds the torso | Gym and team wear, HIIT, cycling, cross-training |
| Firm | 20 to 30 mmHg * | Strong hold, muscle-bracing feel | Recovery tops, contact sports, heavy lifting |
| Very firm | 30 mmHg and above * | Tight, restrictive by design | Specialist and clinical categories, quoted separately |
Three levers move that number. Spandex content, usually 15 to 25 percent for a genuine compression knit. Fabric weight, usually 200 to 300 GSM for tops. And knit tension, which is where panel-by-panel zoning comes in. We can make the center of the torso tighter through the torso and slightly softer at the underarm and shoulder so the garment does not fight the shoulder joint.
Graduated compression is the fourth lever. Pressure steps down across the garment rather than sitting flat, which is standard on sleeveless and calf wear and increasingly requested on long-sleeve tops.

Fabrics For Compression
Compression shirts can be manufactured using blended fabrics, including polyester-spandex, nylon-polyester, nylon-spandex, and cotton-polyester. Polyester and nylon offer durable, lightweight options for activewear. Spandex blends add to and improve recovery and stretch required for close-fitted silhouettes. Mesh panels can also be used in specific areas of garments to add ventilation that helps in enhancing breathability and airflow during physical activities.
Construction, Seams and Fit
We manufacture compression shirts with restriction-free movements constructed for a body-contouring fit. The significant elements, including perfectly positioned seams, stretch materials, and shaped panels, allow natural body movement while the mesh helps in providing proper ventilation for required breathability.
